Identified links to other Nano Projects and Nano Cluster

NanoFATE plays an active role in the EU NanoSafety Cluster. This is an initiative within the European Commission Framework Programme 7 (FP7) Industrial Technologies programme "NMP" (Nanotechnology and nanosciences, knowledge-based multifunctional Materials and new Production processes and devices). The NanoSafety Cluster will maximise the synergies between the existing FP6 and FP7 projects addressing all aspects of nanosafety including; toxicology, ecotoxicology, exposure assessment, mechanisms of interaction, risk assessment and standardisation. Download here the 2011 Compendium that describes all the NanoSafety Cluster projects: http://www.nanosafetycluster.eu/uploads/files/pdf/Compendium_2011_web.pdf

Through the involvement and work of the partners within other national and international Nano centred projects, NanoFATE is connected to and feeds into many of the major ongoing initiatives world wide: e.g., OECD Sponsorship Programme for the Testing of Manufactured Nanomaterials through the PROSPECT project ([http://www.nanotechia-prospect.org/] ) and the UK – USEPA consortium “Transatlantic Initiative for Nanotechnology and the Environment” ([http://www.ca.uky.edu/TINE/Index.html] ).

NanoFATE will stay in touch with the current issues faced by industry and regulators and feed in directly our science based answers through both our industrial partners and their contacts plus the key people making up NanoFATE’s Advisory Board.
