It is now generally accepted that there is a= need to explicitly demonstrate that the environment is protected from auth= orised discharges of radioactive substances. In response a number of assess= ment tools (models) have been developed. As the need for environmental asse= ssment increases there is a requirement to ensure that regulators, industry= and their representatives are:
We have developed training packa= ges on radiological environmental assessment aimed specifically aimed at re= gulators and industry and those who may conduct assessments on their behalf= . The courses are lead by the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology wit= h collaborators from the University of Stirling and University of Salford.&= nbsp; The training programme is focused towards the use of the ERICA Tool however we also consider other approac= hes.
To date we have run training courses in United Kingdom, Australia, South= Africa and Monaco; see Training courses - schedule & details for further information an= d feedback from participants.

If you would like to be added to to the training courses mailing list co= ntact Dr Ingo Sch=C3=BCder via&= nbsp;UKCEHtraining@ceh= .ac.uk
We can also organise bespoke training = courses tailored to your needs
We have ran courses in the UK, Australia and= South Africa which were attended by participants representing organisation= s such as national and state regulators, the uranium mining industry and co= nsultants. The courses were an adaptation of those we have run in the UK, b= ut, focused to more local interests with associated practical exercises.
If you would like us to organise a similar c= ourse for you please contact Dr Ingo = Sch=C3=BCder via UKCEHtraining@ceh.ac.uk

The STAR consortium includes a number of the organisations who developed the ERICA= Tool. It is intended that the ERICA Tool will form a component of the scre= ening tier tool for conducting combined human and non-human assessments to = be developed by STAR. Consequently, the STAR consortium will collaborate in= the forthcoming update of the ERICA Tool anticipated to be released in aut= umn 2013. This update will take into account: lessons learnt during model i= nter-comparison exercises (e.g. the IAEA EMRAS programmes and the EURATOM P= ROTECT project), user feedback, and recent evaluations. See here for details and feed= back form.
