The upgrade will take place on Friday 26th April, the service will be offline from 8am until approx 12pm, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.

How will this affect me?

The major change with this upgrade is the removal of the existing wiki markup editor.  This is being replaced with a brand new WYSIWYG rich text editor.  This will impact you the most if you've been used to using the Wiki Markup editor to create your pages, in that case Atlassian has put together a page of useful tips to help you adjust.  Even if you're used to using the old rich text editor Atlassian has some tips for you too to help transition to the new environment.

We would encourage everyone to read through the pages linked to above, it will help you once the upgrade is complete.

Technical information

We are upgrading Confluence, the software powering this Wiki, to version 4, you can find out lots more about all the changes included by visiting the Atlassian website.

Soon CEH's wiki will be upgraded to version 4. This includes some major changes, one of which is the Editor. The ability to write wiki markup has been deprecated and users will now make use of a WYSIWIG editor where they can still add wiki mark-up. By incorporate the strengths of wiki markup with the richness and intuitiveness of the WYSIWYG editor gives you a rich, hybrid editing experience. In particular, confluence has introduced options that offer the speed of the old wiki markup editor, via new features such as autocomplete and shortcut keys.

Below is a list of major changes/improvements to the coming upgrade and some help notes too.
