Soon CEH's wiki will be upgraded to version 4. This includes some major changes, one of which is the Editor. The ability to write wiki markup has been deprecated and users will now make use of a WYSIWIG editor where they can still add wiki mark-up. By incorporate the strengths of wiki markup with the richness and intuitiveness of the WYSIWYG editor gives you a rich, hybrid editing experience. In particular, confluence has introduced options that offer the speed of the old wiki markup editor, via new features such as autocomplete and shortcut keys.

Below is a list of major changes/improvements to the coming upgrade and some help notes too.

  • Changes for wiki markup users
  • Wiki markup macro can be used because Confluence have replaced wiki mark with a simpler rich text editor which has the ability to add macros.
  • Auto formatting - type wiki markup and watch it get converted to rich text.
    • Simply by opening a '{' a variety of macros can be exposed.
    • Or under Insert you can click on the other macros link which will give you a list of macros.
  • Task notifications - nice to inform users of new tasks they need to do, where notifications appear on the toolbar.
